On Sunday 1st November College Sport Wellington held their annual Sports Awards ceremony at Te Raupraha Arena in Porirua. This event (with over 700 attendees) recognises the girls and boys who have done the best or reached the highest level in their code in the Wellington region. The Sports Department sent through nominations for each sport, and were lucky enough to end up with 6 finalists: Maggie Burns (Swimming), Emma Carruthers (Orienteering), Emma Fulbrook (Cricket), Alex Mair (Handball), Gabrielle Palado (Golf) & Christy Robinson (Tennis). Wellington is well known for the talented sporting students, so it is a huge achievement for our girls to end up as finalists for the top sportswomen in their code.

We would like to extend a huge congratulations to Gabrielle Palado and Alex Mair who were announced as Players of the Year in Golf and Handball respectively. They have both had expectional years in their sport and these awards were thorughly deserved. Well done Gabby and Alex!
